Update

I am so bummed that I haven't been updating our blog regularly!! Which also means I haven't been reading some of the blogs I read on a regular basis. This summer has been overwhelmingly hot. It started back in May. Not only has it been hot, it's been dry. And we haven't had rain in a long time. We've lost some of our garden to the extreme heat, even with watering. We haven't been super busy this summer, but we have definitely had fun even with limited times to do things outside.

Both girls are growing so much each day. It's so cute to see them interact with each other. I love how caring and considerate Kayte is. If Emma is sleeping we aren't allowed to use the "ice machine" because "we don't want wake Emma"Or she will cover her up while she is sleeping. It is great and always brings a smile to my face. The both of "follower" and "leader" qualities in them. And I think they compliment each other nicely.

Kayte:
Is starting to understand her feelings a little bit. Her favorite thing to say is "I not happy" Sometimes it means she's hungry, she's tired, or not getting what she wants. Today she told me she was tired, which was cute because she never admits to being tired. Kayte loves to dance and sing. She pretends she has a microphone and sings to the songs she knows. And she knows more songs than I thought. She is also very considerate of others not just Emma, she will try to make you feel better if you are sad or hurt. She is a great helper too. she is also asserting more of her independence and personality. I do believe 3's are worse than 2's already and she isn't even three! I still can't believe she turns 3 in 17 short days.

Emma:
Is starting to RUN! Run, really?! She is also starting to say a few more words besides mama and dad-de. Which is awesome. She loves to dance, sing and laugh. She has some of the best faces and looks. She gets her sister to do things she wouldn't otherwise do. Emma also is finally starting to feel better and sleep better again. Which is fabulous! She is teething about 4 molars right now, which is NOT fabulous. But things are over all great.

Joe and I 6 year anniversary is coming up and right now we are planning on attending and It Works
event in Evansville. I am wanting to get some pictures of just us together, but haven't figured out all those details just yet.

Overall things are great, just busy and I am going to try an get more updates on this lovely blog for everyone to keep up with us!

New Bed For Em

Joe and I decided it was time to get a new bed for Emmalee. We broke out the toddler bed for her. We feel like the toddler bed is a crucial step for the kids because it helps teach them to get in and out of bed. If we didn't feel that was important they both would be in full size beds right now. By this time next year Em will be  in the full size bed.

Both girls helped daddy put the bed together! They all enjoyed it and I do believe they all thought mommy was crazy for taking all the pictures I was taking!

Emma was very excited about the new bed! She was bouncing and singing and all smiles.

Putting in the screws. Kayte had her own screw driver!

Happy 1st Birthday Emmalee

May 19 we celebrated Emma's 1 year birthday! We had her party on her actual birthday, I don't really like to do that, but that weekend worked the best between Joe's and my schedule. I made the girls matching dresses that matched Emma's birthday colors: yellow, lime green, and hot pink. This year we didn't get latex balloons filled with helium because I didn't want to see them blow away. The girls had a lot of their friends attend and several family members! We started the day with cinnamon rolls for breakfast, had a small lunch and then had party foods all afternoon. Then followed it up with Pizza for dinner for the kids and subs for the adults. During the party, we had the pools set up, a sprinkler, a table where the kids could paint, and the sandbox. It was pretty warm, but we had fans circulating and water that it didn't seem to bad outside.

It has been an amazing year that seemed to go by way to fast. It doesn't seem like that long ago that she was born.  Our family definitely feels complete. And it is crazy to see the girls interact with each other and how much Kayte shows Em things. It is also insane how much Emma leads Kayte around into things.

It's May 2012

We began May in South Carolina! It was awesome. When we got home, we had to mow the grass it was so tall! The Sunday after getting home, we enjoyed the wonderful weather and spent time outside on our new patio. And the girls got to play in the sprinkler and dirt...well mud! They enjoyed it and the bath water looked nasty afterwards. It was entertaining to watch them play.

This month our baby girl turns 1 year old! Can't believe, time really has passed so fast! We are busy party planning! We are having her party on her actual birthday. We have lots of fun exciting stuff, hopefully, planned for her birthday. We are gonna have lots of food and stuff for the kiddos to do. And hopefully the adults are a little entertained as well!

Kayte really enjoys taking pictures now, and I let her take the camera around for a bit on Sunday and here are a few shots she captured:
