3 year well child visit

Since her 3 year post was getting a tad on the long I decided to do a second blog with her most recent stats.

At her well child visit Kayte was amazing! When we got there she was all ready for the doctor. We got hung up at the receptionist because they had a new system and Kayte hadn't been there since the update back in June. She kept asking where Dr. Parent was and if she is was ready for us. When we got called back, she stood on the scale and got her height taken like like a big kid! She also got her temperature taken, a pulse, and blood pressure by the nurse. She did a great job. She was even talking a little to the nurse. When the doctor came in she talked to her as well. The doctor checked her heart, lungs, eyes, and inside her mouth and Kayte did amazing through all that too..

Kayte is 3'4" and weighs 32 lbs. All her other stats are great too. She is tall and skinny. I forget the percentiles she is in right now, I will have to find the paper they are on.

3 years old!

Wow, where has time gone. I really still am in awe that Kaytelynn is 3 years old! Time sure does have a way of sneaking up on you. It's mind boggling sometimes. Kayte's birthday party was actually a week before her actual birthday. We had fun and it was a fire truck themed party! (surprise! surprise!)  It was fun! Joe and I decorated the night before so when she woke up we could jump into the rest of the party stuff and less stress on the day of the party! She thought it was so great. Joe filled up 70+ balloons... I mean really, who doesn't love to play with balloons.

These are just from her party we had!  And on her actual birthday we did so much more! We woke up, made some pancakes, let her open a couple presents, went to the zoo, grabbed some lunch on our way home, came home ate lunch, opened a few more presents and had some naps. After nap we went to our neighborhood playground for a bit and then went out to dinner at the Incredible Pizza Company, came home opened the last few presents and played a bit longer and then went to bed. It was a busy but super fun day!! I am still cannot believe she is 3!

For her presents she got: a necklace, a camera, some couple movies, some Curious George books, a some new clothes and PJ's. and  TOOLS!! She loves her tools and now can help Daddy without stealing his tools.

We all had a great day and were all ready for bed at the end of the day!

Where have we been?!

It sure has been a long time since I have updated this wonderful blog! Just been busy this month with planning parties, IW events and parties, and just having fun as a family. Since the last blog so many things have happened: a birthday party & a well child visit, a business/family mini trip, an anniversary and some fun things around town. With it being so hot we haven't really ventured out too much. And with the water ban, we can't fill up our pool. This summer has been a rough one. I will be getting blogs put together here soon and have them all posted before our wonderful month of August starts.

I haven't even had a chance to catch up on the blogs I follow... so I will be doing that too!!

Marion County Fair

This year since we live in Marion County now, we decided to attend the county fair that is right down the road. It's about 5 minutes away. Kayte rode her first roller coaster, and did not like it. We rode the Ferris Wheel. We ate funnel cakes and had a Lemon Shake up. The girls liked all of them. We also went and looked at the animals, saw some police cars. And introduced Kayte and Emma to some Marion County Sheriffs. We stayed for the fireworks. It was a blast. Kayte loved them, Emma wasn't too fond of them at first. We had a great seat too. We parked in the field close to the set up area and were able to see them set the fireworks off and see the displays really well.

Update

I am so bummed that I haven't been updating our blog regularly!! Which also means I haven't been reading some of the blogs I read on a regular basis. This summer has been overwhelmingly hot. It started back in May. Not only has it been hot, it's been dry. And we haven't had rain in a long time. We've lost some of our garden to the extreme heat, even with watering. We haven't been super busy this summer, but we have definitely had fun even with limited times to do things outside.

Both girls are growing so much each day. It's so cute to see them interact with each other. I love how caring and considerate Kayte is. If Emma is sleeping we aren't allowed to use the "ice machine" because "we don't want wake Emma"Or she will cover her up while she is sleeping. It is great and always brings a smile to my face. The both of "follower" and "leader" qualities in them. And I think they compliment each other nicely.

Kayte:
Is starting to understand her feelings a little bit. Her favorite thing to say is "I not happy" Sometimes it means she's hungry, she's tired, or not getting what she wants. Today she told me she was tired, which was cute because she never admits to being tired. Kayte loves to dance and sing. She pretends she has a microphone and sings to the songs she knows. And she knows more songs than I thought. She is also very considerate of others not just Emma, she will try to make you feel better if you are sad or hurt. She is a great helper too. she is also asserting more of her independence and personality. I do believe 3's are worse than 2's already and she isn't even three! I still can't believe she turns 3 in 17 short days.

Emma:
Is starting to RUN! Run, really?! She is also starting to say a few more words besides mama and dad-de. Which is awesome. She loves to dance, sing and laugh. She has some of the best faces and looks. She gets her sister to do things she wouldn't otherwise do. Emma also is finally starting to feel better and sleep better again. Which is fabulous! She is teething about 4 molars right now, which is NOT fabulous. But things are over all great.

Joe and I 6 year anniversary is coming up and right now we are planning on attending and It Works
event in Evansville. I am wanting to get some pictures of just us together, but haven't figured out all those details just yet.

Overall things are great, just busy and I am going to try an get more updates on this lovely blog for everyone to keep up with us!
